New PC will only post when using ?AUTO? settings for Mem divider and HTT multiplier.

I just built at new system and I followed the AnandTech FAQ to ?Isolate and Consolidate?. Isolated, my "safe" (max < 5%) maximum levels, which are: Ram = 342 MHz, HTT = 350 and CPU = 2392. I think these are fairly typical for a Venice A64 3000+. I was trying to enable the settings below from Gogar?s spreadsheet. I?m having trouble getting my Epox EP-9NPA+ SLi to post when manually adjusting the memory divider to DDR500 and HTT multiplier to ?3X?. But, system will post and run Prime95 for hours when I set cpu to 299x8, but leave ?memory divider? and ?HTT? in Auto. The system runs fast and cpu is running at 2400 with a 3Dmark05 score of over 7800. But, by using the ?Auto? settings for HTT and Ram, am I getting the most out of this rig?



299 8 x 299 = 2392 5:4, 250, DDR500 = 341.71 (DDR683) 3 x 299 = 897 0.1111

Just to be clear, you are trying to post with HTT 299 and HTT multi to 3x, and not HTT at 350 with HTT multi at 3x, right?

Yes, you are correct. Sorry, I've edited the thread to show that 350 was the safe isolated max available, not what I'm trying to run at.
