Its a brand new build. I tried this so far

1) transfer some MP3s to my primary Hard drive then burned them and I had the same skippin Cds when played after being burned

The picture thing is not that bad. I have only seen it like 3X in 7 days or so.

Those pictures make me think that your video card is either A.) Defective or B.) Overheating. Try another vid card if you can and see if that eliminates your problem. If that doesn't do it, you may also want to look to your power supply. It's never happened to me personally but I've heard of bad voltages causing distortions in displays.

System specs would also help so we know what kind of hardware you are running. To fix the sound issue, I'd first download and install Driver Cleaner Pro. A google search will turn it up. Use that program to uninstall any audio drivers you've installed. When you reinstall your sound drivers, do the drivers only install if you're using a Soundblaster card. That will give you basic sound functionality so you can see if some of Creative's garbage is causing you grief.

Good luck man!

Do those CDs skip in a stand-alone CD player, or in your computer? If it's a CD player, I don't think it's an audio driver problem. Have you installed the latest version of your chipset drivers, or the dualcore patch?

System specs would be nice....

Everything should have the latest drivers according to ABITs site. I have an antect truepower 450 watt PS.

Ok it looks like nero 7 was my problem. I used a ROXIO cd what came with my dell and it works PERFECT

and by pressing CTRL+F5 refreshed the weird picture and made it look normal !

🙂

My guess is that it's the burn speed + media. Even if you're using TY discs, the burn speed can have a negative result. Try burning a CD at 4X, this should solve the issue. You can experiment with higher speeds, you could probably do 16X or even 32X, but it's obvious 48X ain't doing the job.

Nice Taco. I got a 2K6 four-door Prerunner w/offroad package just a few months ago, same color. Had the sound system ripped out by Magnolia on Thursday, and dropped my MB Quart RSB160 into the rear doors, my Alpine 4x30RMS amp fit nicely under the driver's seat, and the car kit for the console matches in color near perfect for my Alpine 9830. Of course, I still needed speakers for the front doors, so I bought the Boston SL60...they simply needed a plate to convert from 6x9 to 6 round. It's so nice to turn up the volume and not want to immediately turn it back down again. You should see the size of the magnets on the stock speakers...can you say TINY??? Jeezus, I'm surprised those speakers can push any air at all. My amp is a bit under-powered, tho...might go with a second amp later and bridge both. Also had them drop in a Clifford G450 alarm system. Thinking about having a bed extender installed next.

Yeah there nice trucks and pretty damn fast for a 6cly truck. It will smoke some v8's haha
That was not my truck though. Here is mine. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e360/.../2-25-2006RobertmoosesNnewtruck039.jpg

Its a 2006 Xcab SR5 v6 auto. I love it. I had a 1995 Xcab then a 2005 regular cab now this 2006. Always get what you want the first time. I wasted so much money getting a regular cab first.

About the burnning speed , you might be right. Though Roxio burned at 48X with no problems. I may try slower speeds like you say. Roxio is not so bad though. I may stay with it.

I almost bought the Xcab. Would have saved a couple-thousand. But the issue was that the wife and I wanted to have a kid (shhh...we found out last week she's preggers...) and I also wanted to be able haul friends for snowboarding, so the four-door was a better way to go. If I could get a two-door, it would have been a G35...but i MUST have a truck, so I dumped the 90 Nissan Hardbody (it was the best I could afford 16 years ago). But you're right...I got what I wanted THIS time. The outlet in the back is especially cool.

I also considered black...it was the only other color besides silver I liked. And I also went with auto.

But back to the subject at hand: Roxio worked fine for me until a critical update was installed, then when I needed to install the Roxio update for compatibility with the update, it was a nightmare. I finally gave up and went back to Nero.

There have been numerous documentation over the years that higher burning speeds have led to incompatibility with standalone players. I've even read it in MaxPC several times. Nero is one of the best, and when I'm archiving or burning for my car deck, I always use slower burn speeds to make sure the data is properly written and will be fully compatible and stand the test of time (I also use TY discs). I can always find something else to do for those few extra minutes it takes to do a burn.
