I am having this system built mostly for gaming and running diferent programs at the same time. Please let me know if these components are ok. I also would like to know if 2 hard drives are better than one, and if 2x120gb hard drives are more than enough, or should I go with 2 x 160? Also is a bigger processor that big a deal, or is an XP 2700 or 2800 good enough?

For the heatsink I would rather get a thermal right Sk7+ as your can fit a 80 MM fan on there for quiter cooling.

For the CPU I don't think you see much of a difference between a 2700+ and a 3000+
Having 2 hard drives is nice in case one decides to bite the dust.

I would go with a xp2700 and a 9800np.

Only you know if 240gb is enogh (60gb is enough for me), I have 1 gb of ram and I see no noticable difference going from 512 to 1gb. I wouldn't worry too much about serial ata either.

My suggestion is:
XP2700+
160gb(7200 8mb cache)
256x2 (DDR2700+)
9800np

and you should save $350+

Thanks for the replys. I'll keep the 2700 in mind then. How about the 2 hard drives? Is it worth getting two hard drives or would it be better getting one 160gb? Do the 2 drives actualy give you more space, or is one used for something else besides storage? Sorry for this lame question, since I am new to these configurations. thanks

The advantage to running 2 hard drives is you can run them in raid and that will be faster.
