New PC Random Restarts and Freezes?

Hi all!

I have finished building my new PC and now when I am using it, sometimes while just sufring the net, or burning a DVD, it will lock up on me. The USB keyboard (logitech g15) lights go out, and sometimes if I wait a couple min. they will come back on and I can resume what I was doing. Sometimes though, it will not come back on and I have to restart. While the lights go out, the PC is locked up as well.

Also, sometimes it will just restart on it's own right in the middle of me doing something.

What are some things I should start to look at as far as trouble shooting this annoying issue.

Specs are as follows:

vista 64 home premium
i7 920 w/ stock cooling
MSI X58 pro
6gb corsair xms3 tri channel
wb black 640gb
bfg gtx 260 gpu
corsair 650 tx psu
 
First check all your connections. Then make sure the CPU cooler is attached correctly. You may have a loose connection or an overheating problem. After that make sure your ussing all the latest drivers. Next check to see if there are any known problems with the motherboard and if there is a BIOS update availible that may fix said problems. If you still have problems after that you may have a bad motherboard.
