I just built a new PC. Specs:
Athlon X2 5600+ (stock cooling for now + arctic silver 5)
Corsair XMS2 2GB
Geforce 7900 GS OC (PCI-Express)
Biostar TForce 570SLI
500 W Antec PS

Here is the story. I had everything installed. 2 HD's / 1 DVD burner / X-Fi sound card / Wireless network card (PCI). All fans operational. I went to boot and I got continuous beeps all same time apart. The LED indicators on the mobo say that this is a Memory issue. The beeps (according to the mobo manual) indicate a memory problem.

I tired the Corsair ram in all combinations of slots. I also tried 1 stick alone. Still wont post.

I had some OCZ ram that was compatible and I tried that. SAME thing! All beeps / LEDs say RAM issue but it cant be all 4 sticks of RAM from 2 manufactures bad.

I think it is the mobo. Any advice?

try flashing the CMOS, then installing 1 stick and pray. Sometimes this helps (not the prayer part hehe).

RMA the board then. If 2 sets of memory can't work then something is wrong. That should never ever happen. Even the 680i which people claimed was so picky with memory worked with mine out of the box.

ok update, i cleared cmos and took out mobo battery and left it out for 15 minutes. Now 2 ram slots are working (slots 2 and 4) and for some reason slots 1 and 3 arent working. I have tested many combinations and have come to this conclusion. As a result i cant run my memory in dual channel mode. You think those slots are bad or is something wrong here?

BIOS says memory running at 1.9V. Max I can go is 2.1V in which case the problem isnt resolved. This has to be a mobo issue. Damn BIOSTAR!

Add BIOSTAR to my "stay away from list" along with MSI / ABit

My system (a bit similar)

Athlon X2 3600+ (Scythe Ninja B + arctic silver 5)
overclocked to 9 X 315
Corsair XMS2 2GB
ATI X850 OC (PCI-Express)
Biostar TForce 570SLI
550 W Coolermaster PS

I could not boot at first then realized that the Ram was not pushed into the slot properly. I removed 1 stick then was able to boot and inserted the other stick and all is well - using the first 2 slots.
Went into BIOS and set volts to 2.10 (this is needed for Corsair XMS2). You can go to 2.4 V but have to move a jumper - see manual.
This Board is very picky on the memory timings - basically do not use AUTO - cannot remember all my settings now - I run at 5 5 5 16 CR = 2, tREF = 8ns tRRD = 4
Dram drive strenght weak to name a few
Also watch the R/W Queue bypass 8 and bypass max = 4
Speed is around 406 (2840/7)
Play with the settings until you find the best settings that is stable - memory settings is key on this board.
Otherwise the Board is great so far - really snappy

*shrug* both my MSI Neo4-F and Abit Ip35 Pro are both solid boards. the Abit is overclocked.

But anyhow yeah Biostar is more budget oriented.
