So last week I ordered parts for my brand new rig, little did i know that this will turn into a 3 day nightmare of trying to make it work. Here are the parts:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Motherboard: Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe

CPU: Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (AM2) 2.6 Ghz , Dual Core, L1: 128KB x2

HD (RAID 0): 2 Western Digital Raptor WD740ADFD 74GB 10,000 RPM 16MB
Cache Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM

RAM: Patriot PDC22G6400LLK Memory Patriot 4GB (4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2
SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory

Video Card (2 SLI): VGA ASUS EN7900GTX/2DHTV/512M
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HD:
First question, 2 raptor hard drives are set up in a RAID 0, the performance was very disappointing, I did not see much improvement over my 7200rpm hard drive, I mean raptors are 10,000rpm so even just using one should increase the performance and if they are RAID 0 configured then I should see even more improvement. I know that they are not SATAII like raptor X, but is there anything I can do to improve this, maybe disable some options or use certain drivers?

RAM: I did not mess with any BIOS settings for ram, but it?s running at 5-5-5-X(sorry forgot the last number) anyone knows if this is the optimum timing? I do not want to do much of overclocking but maybe a little tweak here and there would increase ram performance?

CPU: works great, the only odd thing that I noticed is first time when I turned on the computer I got a WARRNING in bios showing that CPU temp is at 128C!!, that freaked me out so I turned the computer off right away, next time I started it, temp was at 39C. So once in a while I just get 128C temp warnings, any idea what this could be?

Video Card(aka the biggest pain) Here is the most frustrating part, by far those 2 video cards are the most expansive items that I got for my new PC. When I enabled SLI in windows, screen flickering started, like when PC boots Monitor would go blank before windows loads, say blank for a shot time then windows image reappears, is that normal? When I try to do any benchmark testing(Aquamakr3, 3DMark6) in the middle of the test, monitor would loose signal and stay blank until I restart my PC, I have the latest drivers for my mobo/video card and I could not find any help or anyone who could point me in the right direction in fixing this. This problem (monitor loosing signal) only happens when I run it in SLI mod, and it happens with any 3D application.

TEMPRETURE: When I only have one card in, my CPU temp is 39C idle and 55C under full load, My MB temp is between 36-51C, Video Card is at about 48C to 54 under load. Those numbers increase when I get the second card in. Can anyone tell me what are ?acceptable? temperatures for this? Like at what temp should I start getting worried about damage?

I don?t remember my Aquamark3 score but 3Dmark6 gives me 6050, this is with single card running. With SLI I was not able to get the score since the screen would loose signal in the middle of the test.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I am beyond frustration now with this since I spend so much money on this PC and so far it?s not showing the performance that I paid for. Any input on this would be GREATLY appreciated, if you have any suggestions or information that could help me solve the problems please respond to this post.

Thank you so much in advance.

Is the CPU cooler seated all the way down & secure? It might give false readings if not
seating correctly.

As for the video card temps, I wouldn't worry if you are hitting mid 50s under load. I
have the BFG 7900GT and it stays around that when I play Battlefield 2 for a few hours.
Expect all temps overall to go up by adding a second card, although since I am still using
only one card (have the second spot, but no more money) I don't know how much more
it will go up. If worried, right click desktop and go into the display properties for the video
card. There is a temp readout there where if I remember right also lists a "Core
Slowdown Threshold" of 127C, so even if you hit 60s, that is way below. If worried about
temps, feel free to add some fans to promote airflow.

While not a horribly crappy PSU, I would say that I would point the finger at that.

As for the raptors and RAID, RAID shows very little if any performance increase in a lot of tasks, and the raptor isn't THAT much faster than a regular drive. So I would say they are working fine. If you want to check do a HD bench test
