New PC giving me a headache

Hello I recently built a new PC. Now I am getting random reboots no matter what I do. I can be surfing the net, chatting on a messenger program or doing nothing at all. When I am playing games, either it locks up on me or boots me off to the desktop or reboots the computer. I don't think that heat is a problem because I have 4 case fans - 2 that draw in air and 2 that draw out air. The CPU, vid card and PSU have their own fans as well. The system is stock and it hasn't been overclocked If my easytune monitor is correct I am anywhere between 28 to 35 degrees celsius. Here are the specs on my computer:

Giga Byte 8SQ800 motherboard
Intel P4 1.8GHz processor
1 stick of Mushkin DDR ram 512mb
Maxtor 30 gig hard drive
Western Digital 8 gig hard drive
ATI Radeon 64mb VIVO card
Creative Labs Audigy sound card
Creative Labs 12x dvd rom
TDK cd burner
XP Home Edition OS

I am not sure if this is a hardware or software problem. I have all the latest updates for XP and I installed the latest drivers for the sound and video card. I might have to take this to a professional to check it out if I can't figure it out soon. I appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you.

Check your event viewer in Administrative Tools (I think Home has it too) and see if it can help pinpoint the source of the problem.

WarCon - I am not sure where I can find the event viewer unless you mean dxdiag.

Tal - I am using a Enermax 420 watt PSU that is P4 compliant.

Look for any type of error that is happening at the same times your rebooting or getting dropped to the desktop.

Try under System Control Panel, Advanced Tab....Startup and REcovery Button. Uncheck Automatically REboot so you can see the message. Also, there should be a %SystemRoot%\Minidump folder with logs in it for you to peruse. -TAL

I couldn't find the reason why my computer is having all these problems by looking through the logs. All the hardware came from my old computer except for the case, psu, mobo, processor and ram. I will order a stick from Crucial.com specifically made for this mobo and see if that is the problem or not.
