I'm not sure this is the right section for this question, but...
I love UT, and love the UT3 demo, but my computer is only an athlon 2500+ and radeon 9800, so I really need a new one.
This will not be my first build, so I know I'll reuse the hard drive, monitor, psu and a few other components, but I need to know what cpu+video card+motherboard will run UT3 at a decent framerate at 1280x1024, so that I won't waste money on high-end components. I also don't want to think about upgradability, I just need to upgrade because of this game (I'll probably buy a new one for the next UT). Can someone point me in the right direction?

YOu should ask on general hardware, but here's a nice idea, abit ip35-e mobo for 80$ or so, e4400 or perhaps e6550/e6750 depending on how much you got to spend. Throw in a 8800gt or ATI HD3870 which can be had for 210$ at dell's, look on the videocard forum for the link. Then you need 2gb of ram, for roughly 50$. That's gonna set you back 450$ or so at the least. You could go cheaper, but personaly I wouldn't. If you buy a e6550/e6750, HD3870 and 2gb of ddr2 800mhz ram, then you've got yourself one hell of a rig, that won't need upgrading for quite some time. You MIGHT need a new PSU too though, these components require more energy then your current ones.

thanks about the reply. I'll post in general hardware then with more specific questions (like the psu one). And thanks for the advice, I'll look into it.
