New pc cpu fan not spinning

Just put together a pc and when i first powered it on i noticed the cpu fan was not spinning q9300 with stock cooler. I quickly restarted the pc and noticed that it spun up for a second and then stop, is there any other reason the fan would not spin other than it being defective?Just want to make sure i'm not missing anything.Also do you think the cpu is fried was on for about a minute before i noticed it?

So does the computer start up? I don't think you would fry the CPU if the computer was on for only a minute without the fan running.
If the computer starts up and only the fan doesn't work, try a new fan. If the new fan doesn't work it could be a bad Mobo. If the computer doesn't start you're going to have to do more work.

It was a dumb oversight on my part.I forgot to plug in the 12v connector.Everything is running fine now and I wanted to thank you for trying to helping.

We've all been there, and unfortunately, every now and then, we go back.

The best is when I plugged in the 4 pin power connector to the 3 pin power receiver on my on my graphics card and went "huh?" for half an hour.
