Hi all.

Just put together a new pc and I have problems getting it to boot past bios.

Specs are.
Asrock Z77 Fatal1ty proffesional bios updated to P1.20.
Intel i7-3770K
G-Skill 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1866MHz RipjawsZ X79 Memory Kit CL9 1.5V

I am using HDMI to the TV using the CPU onboard 4000 GPU.
I have one SATA hard drive and 1 dvd writer connected.
I have tried 1 stick of ram in each slot and I have also tried the other 3 sticks 1 at a time in all the slots with the same out come, an A2 error.

I have changed my PSU over with the one out of my other PC that is working 100% and I still get the A2 error.

The A2 error is there all the time even after clearing the cmos several times and reinstalling the CPU twice. All the CPU pins are all fine. None missing and none bent.

Would it be safe to say that my motherboard is faulty at this stage.

Also if the motherboard was OK wouldn't it just boot normal and let me insatll Windows 7 using the default settings in Bios?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Denis280, what am I looking for?

I have just come from an old 775 socket board and this bios is all new to me.

On my old board it was connect upto ide or sata and that was it.

What settings are there that need setting up after reseting bios back to default?

Thanks

I have changed the settings to ide for the sata and I still get A2 error.
I have just connected a ide hard drive and changed the setting for 1st boot to ide and I still get the A2 error.

Is there any other settings that I should know about that I could try?
