New PC Build Gone Awry

Hello All,

The system im currently trying to build is the current base specs:
Thermaltake Tsunami Dream V3000SWA chassis
Chaintech Zenith NForce4 Ultra Mobo
AMD 64 3200+
ATI Radeon X700 Pro Video Card
1GB of Corsair PC3200 memory
500W Ultra X Connect PSU

*note - my PSU is 20pin and the mobo is 24pin, im using 20pin to 24pin adapter*

I hooked up all the hardware no problem into the case and i proceeded to turn on the computer hoping my first ever build would be good. The case fans started spinning, the gfx card fan was spinning, the cpu fan was spinning, so power isn't a problem i dont think.

But I am not getting any display at all, i've never been able to reach anything whatsoever. I checked the cable and they seem to be good. I can't check the gfx card casue i cant find ne one with a PCI gfx card nowadays since my mobo doesnt have an agp slot to test with. I hear no beeps whatsoever as i have my speakers plugged into the line out slot of the mobo. I even tried putting the speakers in all the other audio jacks but to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Try booting with everything outside the case. Reseat the memory and video card.

Got any other power supplies you can test with? Spinning fans is one thing, running the system's another. Like a 400W+ Antec, Enermax or Fortron maybe?

Also, you did get your mobo mounted on standoffs, a power cable to your video card if so designed, and remembered to plug in the ATX12V power cable too, correct? First-time builders sometimes forget those. Hang in there

First, rule out the videocard and the moniter then try a new powersupply. If that doesn't work its like my problem where my motherboard was bad. Also make sure memory is in right banks you can find out by reading manual for motherboard.

No beeps is sometimes attributed to non-functional RAM. Try switching dimms, or using them one at a time (assuming you have 2 dimms of 512).
