So I put together a new rig for BF3, Diablo3 and a few more years of PC gaming.
i7 2600k
Asus p8z68-pro v
16gb gskill ripjaws
evga gtx580 super clocked
haf 922
Everything went together pretty smoothly. Did run into some minor annoyances but nothing too bad.
But what sort of tweaked me out was when I decided to take a look at temps while running BF3 beta. I brought up EVGAs Precision monitor and Asus Probe2 at first, then switched the Probe2 for Realtemp cpu monitor. After a couple rounds of Metro my 580 was at 80c and my cpu was hitting 74c, this is on stock cooling. The cpu was high enough to bring up a little warning from one of the Asus utilities. When I switched to Realtemp, it was 10c higher, I think highest I hit was like 87c.
I asked on another forum if this was ok and most feedback was get another cooler. So I ordered a Thermalright Archon.
Anyway, Im no PC pro, but it seems like BF3 will give your PC a pretty thorough workout.
