"This is a full Windows XP computer that fits in your pocket," said Colin Hunter, executive vice president of OQO, Tuesday. "Desktops are pretty much dead. Most people would prefer to have a computer they can carry around with them all the time."
Right....desktops are pretty much dead. I'll just play games and browse this site on a 3 inch screen. Let's think about this one
The article also mentions the machine's capability to plug into a real keyboard, mouse, display, and whatever else. I certainly wouldn't mind something this portable and functional.
I didn't notice the part about the montior. I still think the desktop is FAR from dead. Currnent top of the line video cards are double the size of that whole thing
<< OQO is negotiating with electronics companies who could manufacture and market the device. A version manufactured and sold under the OQO brand is also possible, a spokesman said. >>
I like this little computer. I like the fact that it is portable, fast and runs Windows XP. It's the best things about a laptop and a pocket PC in one. I wonder how you are supposed to input data without a keyboard hooked up - a stylus maybe? If the cost is right I might consider picking one up instead of a pocket PC at the end of the year. It will make a good graduation gift to myself at the end of the year.
