( EDIT: sorry, new here - didn't notice the dedicated Nvidia forum... hopefully this thread can be moved there )
Just got this one (see specs). Installed earlier today and everything was dandy... for about 3 hours. Got the latest drivers, ran some benchmarks, then went testing some video transcoding with NVDEC/NVENC. Mid way through this, Windows suddenly hangs and the screen goes bonkers with artifacts.
Turns out I got the "space invaders" or "XO" issue, because it looked exactly like the stuff you see here.
Rebooting didn't help, same thing happened as soon as the Windows logon screen came up. The only thing that helped was the suggestion in this thread: I left the power off for a while, then booted up again and changed the Nvidia Power Management setting to "Prefer Maximum Performance".
For now it's working again, but I haven't really stress-tested it. Naturally leaving the card drawing maximum power at all times is no "solution".
Seems like this problem has been plaguing RTX cards since *2018*... and yet, I just got hit by invaders on a brand new card picked up *today*. (Of course, I have no way of knowing how long it had been sitting on the shelf.)
The weird thing is, most of the reports I see are about 2070/2080 GPUs. Only a couple about 2060s, but those are either Super or Founders Edition. Mine is none of the above, just a plain old 2060. I didn't do any overclocking or anything funny either, all factory settings with the latest drivers.
So before I get it replaced, I'd like to know what's going on:
I prefer *using* my card, not doing quality control for Nvidia / Palit / whoever is continuing to screw up here.

- Anyone else know whether this problem has been documented on plain vanilla 2060 GPUs?
- Is this still a widespread issue in 2020 in general? is anything known about the prevalence of this bug over time?
- Is there a reliable explanation of the *cause*? Some sources blame the RAM, others blame the GPU cores...
I prefer *using* my card, not doing quality control for Nvidia / Palit / whoever is continuing to screw up here.
