New paint smell...

I painted my case about a week ago, but still smells like the paint. Is there anyway I can get rid of it than by just letting it sit for a couple more days with the window open?

Did you seal the paint with a clear coat?

Try coating it with something, like wax (the car type you have to rub on). It works for people who don't like the smell of leather (using Armor All).

I used one of those spraypaint coats... those finishes. The paint smell went away, but the smell of that final coat stayed for a few days but then went away.

thanks for ther responses...i should apply some clear coat and some rubbing compound. hopefully that'll do the trick.

I would apply the clearcoat outside...
That smell will knock you down!

If you live in a sunny location, you could leave it outside for a day. Just turn it occasionally so that all sides are evenly exposed to the sun. The air will carry the smell away as the sun bakes it out.
