I got the new OCZ Flex XLC PC2-6400 (ddr800) which is rated a 2.0v, and as the title says I get no video signal just a black screen at bootup.

I know it has been a widely reported problem that P965 chipset boards requiring 1.8v capable ram to boot, and many have had to use a cheap stick of low voltage ram to boot then set the vdimm in bios.

I thought all the mem manufactures would have fixed the SPD's to boot at lower volts by now:confused:

Does anybody have any experiences with this board or ram?
I'm considering picking up a cheap 256mb stic of PC2-4200 (ddr533), but I,m not 100% sure this is the problem:frown:

my opinion leads me to your board first. I have had way more boards die on me than ram. Try an find someone you can borrow memory from! Don't go buy it! If you do buy some, try and buy from Fry's electronics if they have a store by you. You can return the memory for a full refund.

I agree on the more dead boards than ram. I really doubt the OCZ sticks are dead.
The more I've been reading this board has many many reports of it being ultra picky with ram. I read several reports of people with ram based on the ProMos IC's (reportedly whats in these OCZ sticks) that ended up having to get different ram:(

I decided to go ahead and order a 256mb stick of kingston ddr2-4200 (ddr533) from newegg for $23, I will either ebay it or keep it for a test stick. The cheapest stick at my local Fry's was 512mb for $50

If I can't get it to boot with that, I will RMA the board.

If it does boot with the kingston ram, I will set the specs manually for the OCZ and see if they will post.
