So I'm putting together a p55 system. Since the p55 will have limited crossfire/sli capabilities with the next gen vid cards (most likely anyway) I am going to buy one with just a single x16 slot. I have it narrowed down to two. I am going for the budget boards because if I were to get into the $150 range the i7 920 becomes much more enticing.

ASRock P55M Pro for $99 currently at Newegg.

Gigabyte P55M-UD2 for $109.

I have an old Zalman 9500 cooler, which can go right into the ASRock but they will likely make a bracket soon for the gigabyte anyway (which means I won't have to pull my old mobo). The ASrock uses the VIA chipset for the audio, which I am not familiar with.

Anyone with either of these two boards have any input? My plan is to pick up a new 58xx card when they launch since most gaming is vid card limited right now. I have a 9800gx2 (got it cheap with a EVGA step-up before they disappeared) to hold me over until then.

Asrock has a nice product. Give it a try.

I never liked Gigabytes bios.

Really no one has tried these p55's, so you are the testing dept :).
