New P4/motherboard upgrade doesn't seem to work

I tried to upgrade to a P4-2.4BGhz processor, using the Intel D845GEBV2 motherboard, using a new chassis with the ATX12V power supply. On power on, the motherboard's power indicator comes on, the fans (case and CPU) are running; however there is no display nor any beeps. I have tried running it with a minimal configuration, (only floppy drive connected). I am not sure what could be the issue. I am using the system board's built in VGA port to connect to my monitor (which is not new). Is it possible that the CPU is DOA?? any other possibilities? Please help. Thanks.😕

ya might wanna make sure that the CPU is firmly seated or just try reseating the CPU. i've had that problem before.
