Shuttles are generally known for high quality - they don't up and die quite as much, at least from anecdotal evidence, as some other brands. But, yeah, if you can't handle downtime, that's going to be an issue.
Anyways, there's a list of the new models floating about, and one of them is the high-end beast we were expecting: the SX38P3. Feature list (stolen from
here and translated):
[*]Nortbridge Intel X38
[*]Southbridge ICH9R
[*]Sockel 775, Intel® Core? 2 Quad/Extreme, Core? 2 Duo E6000/E4000 Series, Pentium Dual-Core E2000 Series, Celeron 400 Series
[*]Max. 8 GB DDR2 800 (OC to 1066 MHz)
[*]2x PCI-E X16
[*]Gigabit Ethernet
[*]Firewire
[*]SATAII Raid
[*]2x eSATA
[*]8-Channel Audio
[*]8x USB
[*]Fingerprint Scanner
[*]WLAN, Bluetooth
[*]400 Watt PSU
Doesn't list any of the internal port numbers, although I'd guess 3-4 SATA. The PSU is a bit marginal for some of the higher-end SLI configurations, though.
