Hey all!
Just got my Radeon yesterday and benchmarked it.
At the default settings, I got a 3DMark2001 score of 1954
I am relatively new to all the new hardware stuff so I don't know if that is a decent score. But the Deux Ex (I think) tests all seem VERY slow.
Here's how I installed.
I had a 3dfx V3 3000. So I uninstalled it, deleted the voodoo3.inf file. Rebooted. It came up in the standard driver mode. I then shutdown. Installed the card. Cancelled the detection, put the install CD in, installed everything, reboot, unzipped the 3124 drivers, and used driver manager to install the latest betas.
I should definitely mention that the Radeon is in a 2x AGP slot of a Intel 440BX motherboard running @ 550MHz with 256MB RAM. In my BIOS I have options for 64 and 256 AGP aperature, but that is about it. I left it at the default, 64.
Do I need to install a new motherboard to notice a big difference? Any and all suggestions are welcome and needed! Thanks!
