New OS X.2 announced for Macs. Includes OpenGL 2D acceleration of the OS, & a bunch of Unix stuff, amongst other things.

Interesting. "Quartz Extreme" is supposed to do all video acceleration, including 2D, in Open GL.

New standard? "Rendevouz" is supposed to let any networked computers "dynamically discover each other and share them" whatever that means.

damn, I want a mac to just play with OS X.2 i wish there was a PC port of ti

I wish I had a powerbook to play with it :)
hehe.. there's a guy outside of my lab (I'm at work here) with one, just sitting there in the hallway playing with it, thinks he's so cool .... I think I can take him!

Yes. Any recent 16 MB Geforce 2 and above or ATI Radeon card, and preferably 32 MB. I actually ran an OpenGL accelerated Unix terminal window (yes you heard that right), and it was faster than the usual terminal window. Not that I actually noticed the difference in every day use though.
