New OS install trouble - stupid of me..damage control..?

I was running XP installed tweaked to perfection and running fine on my root FAT32 drive until one fine morning i felt i needed 98.

I installed bootmagic and set up a boot menu showing my xp install.

Now as recommended by those guys, i inserted a boot disk and installed 98 onto my D: drive. On first reboot noticed that the BM menu was not appearing.

After install got into 98, found the BM install folder and tried config.

Looks like the 98 install though the folder is on D: put system files and an MBR on C: so that even BM recognizes the C: partition as a 98/MSDOS install.

I have the XP installation and files even now safe in C:

Is there any way i can get it back and get a boot menu

Yeah, so looks like there's no way out.

Maybe i just have to delete the xp files coz there's no use keeping them.

If you can help me out, please do.

Or in 24 hours i dump the xp files and get tweaking my 98 install.
