New Option on Desktop

You know how when you right click on the desktop you can create a new txt, folder, etc. Well as you install programs you get to create more new "somethings." But after you uninstall the programs it doesn't seem to always get rid of those options...So now I have the option to create all these new items where I don't even have the program anymore.

Does anybody know how I can get rid of those file types in the 'right-click'->new-> menu?
