New Operating System

My friend wanted me to fdisk his computer and throw a new operating system on it for him. He was running ME and it was loaded with viruses and spyware and all that happy stuff. I made a start up disk on my machine (XP Pro) and went on with the fdisk. I deleted all partitions and created a primary and restarted and now im stuck. I tried to format c but it wont let me. I tried doing "format c:/s" and extract ebd.cab format.com and then tried again and it says it no longer supports the "/s" command. I'm trying to install windows 2000 pro. Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

Just boot off of the Windows 2000 CD and you can do delete/create/format the partitions from there and install.

May be your boot disk do not have the format command.

You can try download a boot disk from BootDisk.com that have format, or boot from CD as Fokks has suggested and follow the wizard.
