Makes sense, really the only difference I noted was putting AI to max gave a nice increase in Doom3, but I never seem to play it - just used the benchmark. 46.5 at high quality - shadows enabled - 1024 x 768 with a 9700pro. Also radlinker is included so overclocking is easy. Control panel is unique and loads very quickly.

These drivers are sweet. This is the first time I've tried Omega drivers -- I'm impressed.

One question -- has anyone else tried the "High" A.I. setting and noticed that it looks like complete and utter crap? In Doom3, the imps for example look completely wrong with "High" enabled. The textures are all washed out and blank-looking.

The "Normal" A.I. setting seems to work well though. Here's what I get in the Doom3 timedemo at 1024x768, High Settings, 0xAA 16xAF:

A.I. Off -- 44.1
A.I. Normal -- 47.5
A.I. High -- 49.1 (but UGLY)

I wonder if this is a bug, or if the "High" A.I. setting is supposed to look this bad?

It is most probably a bug since none of the reviewers mentioned a "HUGE" IQ loss at "High" AI, I've also seen screenshots that prove that. Nice to see that old hardware still has chance in perfromance boosts.

Are these new Catalyst AI settings meant as a replacement for the two old Performance/Quality sliders, or are they something else entirely?

Something totally different, I think. Anyways off to check the IQ of Doom 3.

I agree with high AI, the imps faces are completely washed out, just look like flat planes. Almost looks like gamma is too high. Not sure whats happening there. With normal AI, I can not notice any difference at game speed anyways.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Seriously, the IQ at "High" setting is just unacceptable. I know we're dealing with BETA drivers and all, so I'll reserve final judgment until the official release. But if ATI thinks the current "High" A.I. setting is acceptable, I want some of what they're smoking!

Maybe I'm off my hinges, but I just installed the latest Omegas, and I can't find the A.I. feature. Where is it located?

Hmm, needed a reinstall to see that feature. Oh well, now it's there. Thanks. From what I've read, I think I'll keep it on normal. :D
