New\Old build hangs on sixth disk

I just replaced a blown K7T turbo II board with an ECS k7s5a board. Specs on my system are Ecs K7s5a, Athlon xp 1600+, Mushkin 256 mb and mushkin 128 mb SDRAM.

At the first screen where it shows the bios verison and detects all hardware, my HDD is detected and then the system says that my Secondary Master (my cdrom) ...Atapi Incompatible. F1 to resume.

I resume past this problem and start in with the Windows XP Pro setup disks. It boots fine from the disks until the 6th disk where it just hangs and says Please Wait....well i waited long enough and nothing.

Solutions already tried....

Cleared CMOS
New CDROM
Different HDD
Different floppy

I need help, building this for a friend and he is getting unruly.

Why are you booting from floppys? Tried a new ide cable yet? The "Atapi Incompatible" error needs to be fixed before you can load windows.

I agree try a new IDE cable.. I've seen ATAPI incompatible happen with bad cables

(and make sure the cable isn't creased... this does it to sometimes. Take out the iron and iron that beotch)

I am booting from a floppy because i thought that is how it had to be done with Win XP Pro, in the past whenever i tried to boot just from the cd it never worked so i have always used the 6 boot\setup disks. Can i really iron the cables? I have also remade the setup disks to make sure that they were not the problem, my next solution will be to try different memory. keep the ideas coming.

Yup, boot from the cd. Also, what power supply are you using? That motherboard is extremely picky with them.
