I drove the I30t all week.

Getting back into my car, what a difference. It feels cramped and closed in all aspects, and going up a slightly rough road, sounded and felt like it was about to shake apart.

The transmission was going LOLWTFBBQ because of hills. Sweet baby raptorjesus on a pogo stick, my Grand Prix HATES hills. It's about every eight seconds it shudders as it tries to change gears, then decides it shouldn't be changing... and repeat, eight seconds away.

So then I either nudge the pedal another 1/2" down, and it does downshift, with the usual shove and starts accelerating more than I want; or I let back on the throttle, and it starts to fall off speed quickly.

The MP3 patch up is dying, I don't know the point of failure, it's either the tape deck to speakers, the tape deck itself, or the cassette adapter.

It takes a hell of a lot more effort to build speed with that than it did with the I30t. I chirped the tires at least once a day with the I30t, I couldn't do a standing start with it without chirp, the only way to start quietly was release the brake, roll a foot or two, then get on the gas lightly.

The brakes are so much better too, makes it much easier to run close.

I put my Masshole evil driver self in a box for most of the week though.

Which is not easy. Especially when you find people driving with their high beams on at night at you or behind you; or when you run into Massholes doing that whole cut the lane to take the left routine; or the fucking douche in the tow truck cutting you off to do 10 MPH up a hill dumping diesel toxins in your face.

Mobile Hotspot never updated to say "HEY THIS ISN'T FREE", so what the hell, I used it anyways. Everybody loved it.

My car did everything I needed/wanted on the way home. Fuck laws.

Also, douchebag in a giant blue pickup who thought -1 MPH was just dandy, except in passing zones, when you'd suddenly jump to +5, seriously, you silly bitch, you know it was deliberate, go cut your wrists, whore.

I'd be like "YEAH PASSING ZONE". Then there'd either be oncoming traffic, and I'd be stuck, or if there wasn't, I'd start nosing out to confirm no traffic, and the pickup would leap ahead, pouring on the speed to prevent a pass.

wise and beautiful woman.

The cops were EVERYWHERE. And they enforce the limits rather assiduously. Which is unfortunate, because you have lots of miles, not a lot of people, precious few driveways, a mixture of straight, sweeping curve, or rapid curve roads, and it's just an area that BEGS for high power cars to play around in.

There's a really neat place just past a rotary up there where you come around a bend, and find yourself nearly a thousand feet over the lake, with a view that looks like it cuts straight out from Weirs, showing you easily 15% of the lake. Awesome view.

Frankly, the only reason I'm really here now is the people in the neffing thread. P&N, Garage, other OT threads... mere sidelights.

I played one chess game against a live person. It was a win, not resounding, but a definitive win.

I also played quite a bit of Chess Titans.
