time to go into liberal arts :awe:

Hell no. The soft majors that don't pay worth a damn and generally exist for a bunch of wannabe intellectuals who can't hack it in the real world so stay in academia to spout their bullshit from a bully pulpit that could never fly outside the ivory towers. Except history. Because history is pretty awesome.

Well, gentlemen? Your thoughts/opinions?

My calculus professor has not replied for six days, so I must conclude at this point that he has gone on vacation or something similar. If you wish, I am willing to forward the emails I have sent to him.

I would like to request that you please make an exception, and allow me to attend the classes as enrolled, despite not having the C in calculus at the moment. I have checked the class enrollment, and found it to have 15 of a maximum 35 students, so I would not be taking a slot from a wait listed student, in which case I would have fully understood not being allowed an exception the class. I firmly believe that I can keep up with the course material on my own time, and if I could not, I would leave and not slow the class down - as such would be the pinnacle of rudeness to my mind. In being allowed to take the course, it would give me a chance to take a more solid engineering course, see a topic that I find truly interesting, and let me determine if engineering is really the right track for my future. If it is not, then I will look elsewhere for a course of study.

As an additional complication to my circumstances, I have already paid the bill to the school for the summer courses, my book has been purchased, and most significantly of these, my summer work schedule has been designed around these courses. No other courses fit correctly to the slots that were made by work at my request, and I cannot reclaim the hours at my workplace, leaving the time wasted without the courses to fill them. I understand that these complications are mine, but they do provide further explanation to why I am requesting this unusual exception.

With regards to the Calculus II requirement, I will be seeking to discuss my grade with the professor when he is able to, and if that turns out to be the correct grade, he has previously offered that a summer program will be held this July and August to raise the grade to a C. Whatever the outcome of the discussion is, I would be happy to send you the updated information if requested.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

I do write well, for which I am glad now, but I do believe a face-to-face meeting would be more helpful in this circumstance, as it would better convey that I'm not the idiot that I appear to be from my transcript.
