Sorry, just a little raged out.

At a certain high-level university, at least one member of the faculty has admitted that he will not even consider applicants who graduated from a state school. I do not recall if this was related to graduate school admissions or faculty search.

And I'd tell that faculty member to go fuck himself if he said that to me. Purdue is a state school and has put more men on the moon then that "high-level university" you're referring to. :awe:

I'm pretty sure I've avoided ever naming this school, but if Purdue has put even one man on the moon, I think it has this school beat.

He never said it to students, just to other faculty, because he was at least smart enough to realize it wouldn't go over well.

Still no answer from the Dean, not that I expect anything good from him.

Oh, if he were willing to issue an exception, the rage emanating from the Chair would be HILARIOUS.

Physics II timing looks pretty inconvenient for session II, doesn't exist in session I. And I won't go do summer courses at the other school now.

I think my goal should be getting into a chemistry course at some point and "accidentally" turning the school into a fireball. :D

I also know from seeing my basic engineering course that in terms of real ability, in terms of seeing the problem, understanding the problem, and solving the problem, I was roughly tied for best in the class. The only competitor was a 45 year old ex-Air Force enlisted male.

My grades have never really reflected my abilities, and no grade can ever display that sort of aptitude.

Not just that I'm pissed about it, but hell, I don't want the rest of those idiots building bridges to have to drive on tomorrow. I wouldn't trust them to build a freaking park bench.

I'm not trying to be a jerk. Really, I'm not. I'm telling you, though, that it is going to be getting rougher in the 300 and 400 level courses. I also remember a time in a 600 level course test where I had a problem and I didn't have a formula for it on my sheet. Guess what I did? I derived the formula completely from scratch. This is the thing you have to be able to do as an engineer and it involves calc, physics, etc. They are important.

Except if that does happen, you've blown all your political capital and I guarantee, no more exceptions.

The EE department takes a hard line of no exceptions ever, and the chair already seems like he has a personal dislike for me, so what the hell, can't get much worse. If I get the requirements later to enroll to the department, he can't deny me that enrollment, because he already emailed me the requirements a while ago.

And if I then didn't make it through the course, then I'd have to be finding a new major, but for no time penalty at that point, and I'll go take ME instead.

Actually, I almost could take ME now, except they'd probably laugh at my GPA. But there'd be no further time penalty.

I'm sure you aren't trying to be, and you aren't actually being a jerk. You have a lot more relevant experience, and I'm just being royally pissed off right now.

I really do think that once I get past the courses I've been stuck in for so long, I'll actually have something that interests me. If I'm interested, I'm much more likely to attend, pay attention, do the work, and give a damn. Yeah, I should do all that anyways, but when you're taking a course for the billionth time, it's kinda tough.

I'd suck at deriving the formulas like that, but I see the answers to physical problems. Cross-wired circuits, geared mechanisms, that sort of thing. I know different sized gears change torque based on ratios, I've known that since I was a kid, because I look at it and it just makes sense. But physics formulas sure as hell don't click for me.

I've always liked posing and taking pictures since I was a little girl. I've participated in pageants; once when I was around 9 and again when I was 17. I love to dress up and take pictures. I love to go out and look cute and take pictures anywhere indoors and outdoors. I like to experiment with new things and love new ideas and artsy ideas. I like to draw and paint when I have the urge to. I took a photography class in 8th grade and again my junior year in highschool. I like being either the photographer or the person in the picture. I love to buy clothes sometimes just for the heck of it to take pictures in. I've thought about a possible career in modeling. My family and friends say i'm pretty tall (for my race) haha. I find that as an advantage in this field and hope to use my height and fashion sense for modeling. If you are interested in doing a shoot, i'm always down. Feel free to send me a message and we'll go from there! =)

My name is _____. I am 18 years old and I am puerto rican. My husband has gotten me into modeling. My main goal in modeling is of course to succeed. I am hoping that Model Mayhem will help me with that goal. I just started modeling so I don't have an established portfolio yet but I'm hoping to upload new one's soon. I have been trying out different styles of modeling, but so far people have told me that lingerie and swimwear works best for me. You can contact me through here or through my email which is also on my profile.

Well, I now have a possibility that, if I can get a pile of really good grades (HA! HA!), I might be able to apply again to this, my workplace, my sometimes-free school, the high-level university mentioned just above.

And that would be free. Still six years, but that's a given now. At least it'd be free, and a better name too. Commute would suck quite a bit more.
