New Obama "Halloween" Ad Makes Fun Of McCain Robocalls

When your opponent does something outrageous, the best way to marginalize them is to make fun of it. He does that beautifully here, tapping into that sense of hatred almost everyone shares about robocalls.

We're seeing this same approach to his stump speeches, with that zinger about sharing his toys in kindergarten, and the way his representatives poke fun during their interviews on Faux News.

I'm in Florida and I did receive an Obama campaign robocall. However, unlike Mccain's "OMG Obama palls around with terrorists!!!", this one was Bob Graham saying how Obama was the right man to fix our economy and some other entirely positive stuff.

Agreed, but I think we've seen a systematic attempt to diminish the importance of these fear-inducing issues by the Obama campaign. Socialist accusations? He brings it up and makes a joke out of it. Ayers? Spreading the wealth? He jokes about sharing in kindergarten. The same we see here.

I think it likely has an effect with voters on both sides. Some are probably offended that he takes the accusations so lightly, and others probably think it's important that he doesn't give credit to them. It certainly takes the wind out of their sail a bit.

I am in FL and I got those calls too. Zero negative stuff about McCain or his policies in the calls I got. Zero fear mongering.
