I have read over at www.tweakguides.com that one must have an nForce4 Motherboard (of course) with two PCI-E ports capable of a speed of 16X each, for the new driver to work properly.

Well if I am not mistaken, the A8N-SLi Deluxe is such a Motherboard.

But I am using the Premium version, and, according to the information I can see from ASUS' web-site, the Premium doesn't have two 16X PCI-E ports.

Can anyone else confirm ?

EDIT: Ok nervermind ... I found out. I just wanted to make sure. It's compatible with the new driver (6.85 in my case, and 6.83 for x64 users).

Thanks taku for your support.

But I simply told myself "the best way to know is to try".

So I un-installed all my drivers (video and audio as well), and re-installed everything following the new nForce4 6.85 drivers.

Now everything works fine, and all is compatible with my Motherboard. I even start to think my system has better overall response than before. I believe those new drivers are great.

????

For your motherboard, the X16 6.85 drivers are the same ones included in the current 6.70 drivers.

ps. FWIW - it's usually not a good idea to install drivers, bios, etc that aren't for your system b/c they can really mess-up your system(corrupt hard drives, over/under volt parts of your system, etc.

Isnt the a8n32-sli the only one that can operate 2 PCIe v-card at 16x while th other are going down to 8x each?

Correct. The OP is incorrect. The only changes in the 6.85 drivers for x16 motherboards is:

Ethernet NRM driver version 5.09 (last was 4.82)
Network management tools version 5.09 (last was 4.88)

Outside of the Asus A8N32-SLI, MSI also has a x16 mobo.

Yes, you're right. No other ASUS nForce 4 boards have the dual 16x PCI-E slots.
