New Nvidia Detonators!
(the above link is for 2k/XP users) Version 28.32

Haven't installed them (not at home), but can anyone try them out? Also, anyone know of a refresh rate tweaker that'll work with the newer drivers? The one from planetquake.com doesn't work with anything higher than the 23.x series.

The new Nvidia drivers have been posted in the video forum,as you you can see the feedback on them is not good,I for one am not happy with them.

Mem, as long as these drivers are stable it doesn't matter much to me. The fact that the tabs are missing isn't that big of a deal anyway, since supposedly nVidia is releasing drivers with tabs today.

Despite how pointless 3DMark is most of the time, I got 346 points more with these drivers (GeForce3 here + 1.4 T-bird).

AGodspeed at the time of posting there was no news on why the Nvidia Control panel was missing, btw this is one of the most important parts since it allows you do adjust OpenGL,D3D ,FSAA etc so that`s why people were not happy.

Anyway we have not long to wait now for the update, btw they are stable, just the Nvidia control panel is missing at the moment ;).

According to their site, they have updated the drivers to include the control panel tabs.

<< pisspoor 32bit 2D performance as with all dets >27.10. :|

2D looks fine on my system w/ the new drivers. However, the darn refresh rate proggie doesn't work. OGL games are stuck @ 60Hz. :(:(

John: It's not how the 2D looks, it's how it performs! Try a fullscreen flash movie with 32bit colour or moving a window around or scrolling a large framed web page with a lot of photos. Diblit speed is practically a third of what it should be! :|

It's quite annoying to use a system and have it *feel* slow because you can see the windows redraw on the screen.

Try running the video test on pcpitstop.com. (this was ripped from the wintune test)

Cheers!

Sharkeeper, what drivers do you recommend for 32-bit desktops? You and me are in the same boat for preferences there. ;)

I was using 27.10 and had no problems with 2D or 3D...

I'm using a TFT so 60Hz refresh rate is what I use. The "stuck at 60Hz problem with OGL games" doesn't affect me. However, with CRT users I can see this is a BIG PIA!

Cheers!
