New Nvidia cards incoming?

For anyone who has been paying attention, it seems to be going back and forth on an almost weekly bases as to weather Nvidia is releasing a new card soon or not. Current guesses are that we wont see a new card until Q3 at least.

However, I was checking out nvidia.com this morning to see if I'm ever going to be able to pick up a 1080ti for less than a grand, and instead of the item listed as "Notify Me", it's listed as "Out of Stock".

Could this be because they are done manufacturing the 1000 series, and are getting ready to release a 1100/2000 series cards? Maybe not, but give me some hope guys.

The cards are expensive and/or out of stock because demand is very high right now. Crypto miners are buying them all up.

Yes I know that. What I was pointing out is that for the last 3 months, the nvidia shoping page has had a "Notify Me" button where the "Add to Cart" is normally located, but now its listed as "Out of Stock". This is something new just started today.

My observation is that this could be because they are not coming back into stock, and the reason for that could be new cards coming out soon. At least I hope.

That's an awful small hint if so ... but who knows 🙂

Please ask in dedicated nVidia section of VC&G, thx.

I never understood the microsegmentation of forums, especially one like this that's relatively tiny. The front page of VC&G has threads where the last post occurred over two weeks ago. The front page of the nvidia section goes back to January.

All three sub-sections should be rolled into VC&G imo.

I agree, the current anandtech just doesnt have the membership to support 3 VC&G forums, to many people left after anandtech stopped being anandtech and actually publishing good reviews. I dont even spend 1/10th the time here as i used to.

Well, if everyone really remembers, the true reason for the sub forums was to stop all the flame-wars. I don't think we really have that issue anymore...

Now back to on topic, I do think we will see a new card from Nvidia, and most likely within the next few months. They already released a Titan based on the new chip. I don't think they will wait too much longer to release more mainstream cards on the design (the only reason not to is to have it to release when AMD released their new cards in an attempt to steal press coverage).

From the chatter I’m seeing over on some deals websites it looks like the nVidia website will have limited numbers of the 1080 and 1080ti Founders Edition cards for sale soon at MSRP prices.
