New nVidia card affecting my mouse sensitivity?

I just replaced my Voodoo3 3000 with a GF2 GTS-V card. When I play Q3A, I notice that the mouse is a lot less sensitive to movement. I have the sensitivity slider set to the max and it's still not fast enough. It was fine when I had my Voodoo3 installed. Why would a new video card mess up my mouse sensitivity in Quake? The mouse hasn't changed behavior in Windows' desktop.

My best guess is that it's drawing more from your CPU for graphics and so doesn't give the mouse as much as it used to. This wouldn't really affect Windows, but it would games since they are more resource intensive. I'm not certain this is the reason - it'd just be the first conclusion I'd think of. Is there a difference if you lower your detail/resolution in the game?
