All test done on my AMD rig
FX5900 overclocked by "auto detect" to highest stable OC of around 480/920

3DMark03

61.77 - 6212

65.62 - 6173

66.00 - 6383

Valve Stress Test

61.77 - 86.51fps

65.62 - 90.01fps

66.00 - 93.28fps

Doom3 (First run/Second run)

61.77 - 43.6fps/48.7fps

66.00 - 41.2fps/50.1fps

Download drivers here

These new sets lack the multimonitor nview tool, but I never used it.
If you feel like trying out these beta drivers, please post results!

My speculation is that the 7*.** driver sets will further improve performance for nv3*/4* chipsets.

Your right, they are 65.62, I just was too lazy to go back and check :). Was waiting for someone to correct me.

Still using the 61.36 WHQL from Guru3d. Nothing has touched their performance and 2d IQ so far for me.

61.77 had noticably lower 2d IQ for me than 61.36, so me went back.
Probably won't be interested in updating until the next NV official release.

Ok, tried these and was not impressed.

lost 3fps in D3 and 500 points in 3DM03.

Also AA doesnt seem to be working in GTA VC.

Have since gone back to the 65.62's.

Rage, what card did you have? I personally noticed that these drivers allowed a much higher overclock than previous 65.62, and were deemed as strictly performance drivers.

I too lost some fps during first run of timedemo for Doom3, but it wasn't so in game.

Here are unofficial benchies done on a chinese hardware site.

Since you needed to install this set through hardware manager, your windows could've accidentally slipped an older set such as 52.** into your system.. you always need to disable auto detect hardware when installing betas.

on a 6800gt

and I know how to install drivers. I've worked on computer before there were such things as GUI's.

Hmm if that is true that should really help Nvidia out.
Anyone here wanna do some benchmarks besides the OP... nothing on ya just need more people to do it.

Indeed. And that's a beast of an if.

But "IF" it is true, that would put NV well ahead of ATi in HL2, which is supposedly "ATi's app". A rampaging stampede of "NV CHEATS OMGROFLICOPTER!" would not be far behind....

Restarted my system and redid the VST and got 3 more fps! Not much in terms of gameplay performance, but I don't expect amazing results from drivers either.

I noticed that the funny textures in farcry are gone, and Doom3 doesn't have the occasional freezes anymore when on High mode. UT2004 hasn't given me that runtime error yet so all is going well.

I can't find any mention of an official release date for half life 2 on the valve website, imo by the time it's been released nvidia drivers will be upto 70.50 and I am sure by then nvidia would atleast offer equal half life 2 performance compared to ATI. Ofcourse if this happens then it would be a disaster for ATI because they really need a clear half life 2 victory! :)

I'm in the process of benching the 6600s now and so far they have provided some solid gains over the 6562s.

*whew* thought you meant you were benching some actual 6600 series cards.

I was about to be like o_O Really? Where, pray tell, did you pick those up?

I'm running a PNY 6800GT with the 61.77 drivers. I'll install the 66.00 ones and see what happens.
