Don't think this has better performance than the nuc8i7hvk
I think that design was made for gamers w/ the AMD Vega M. Can't Imagine the builtin Intel Iris Plus graphics having better performance.

Won't have better gpu performance but probably less expensive and lower power. Of course the zotac en1080K has significant better gaming performance over the nuc8i7hvk; though power and cost are higher.

Less expensive is always good but can’t see much advantage of lower power consumption of a non-battery powered computing device. By the time this is released, shouldnt the performance NUCs and en1080k price drop as well?

I wouldn't expect the en1080k to drop a lot in price. However i do expect the next generation of the vega solution to be better. I would also expect to something from amd soon.

Lower power = less fan noise or even fanless, give the same case airflow. And NUCs are too small for 120mm - 140mm fans that can move air quietly.
