Yeah, that's cause the corvette is a better car for less money. You see a lot more Civics than you do Yugos, too.
Better car in what sense ? Build ? I highly doubt that, The only thing corvette has going for it is what it puts down in power. That's about it.
It's better in nearly every way. The NSX is 13 years old. It comes with a tape deck. The corvette is faster, better looking, much more modern, and actually has a community and aftermarket built up around it.

I'm sorry, but nothing on the corvette can touch the interior/exterior build quality of the NSX. Go take a look at some pictures of the interior of a Corvette - it's no better than a Cavalier or Oldsmobile.

[edit: links got all messed up in the quote]

What do those pictures say about build quality? By build quality, did you really mean "I think the NSX interior is prettier"?

Too bad the car is aluminum :p. It is not turbocharged.

It costs twice as much and weighs as much as a corvette, with less power and performance.

Woohoo, sounds like a deal to me.

NSX

Corvette:

Whats wrong with the Vettes interior in those pics? IMO it looks nicer than the NSX's interior, espically for half the price.

EDIT: Fubared links

Have you even even driven a corvette? The interior build quality is no better than a cavalier, with hard plastics and sub-par materials. I was afraid the buttons would break, the just felt cheap. That's crappy build quality - mismatched material patterns and colors. That's not something that should even be in a vehicle of it's price.

The NSX is a hand built vehicle, so you really think that a Corvette's build quality is going to touch it?

Sure, Porche only has a 6, but atleast for that price they throw in a turbo.

How hard would it be to graft another two cylinders on? (Taurus SHO?)

While you're admiring the interior quality, would you mind checking out my tail pipes while I go by again?

My uncle had a Porche 914 w/ a Chevy 350SB, had power, lightweight, and was balenced. Still not expensive. Other V8 mid engine cars: Ford GT, Ferrari 355.

All that handling won't save you unless you happen to choose a track that specifically is tuned to show off your car. Take it to somewhere else and you'll find yourself competing with cars that you'd choose not to associate with. Note that the Pontiac Firebird and Acura NSX both compete in the T-1 class in SCCA racing. Hard to feel proud about your $90k investment when you're lined up against some $30k cars.

And the corvette still has flip up headlights! Geeze, talk about living in the 80's!

Seriously, dude - READ THE THREAD. Nobody is disputing the fact that the Corvette is faster. The comment was made that the Corvette is a better car, and it was refuted with the fact that the only thing it's got going is the power it puts down.

Cool, show me where you can buy a NSX-R in the US. Where as something you can buy in the US, a stock Z06 Vette runs 12's in the 1/4 as well, for again, half the price.

Actually, it was refuted with pictures showing you think the NSX has a prettier interior.

What does it matter? :p I think it's funny that the NSX can go just as fast with 2 less cylinders, better interior, better reliability (although, Corvettes are very realiable also), and better build quality. Yea, the Corvette is a bargain, but if you want a more rounded and overall better car, I guess that's why you'll pay more for an NSX. :p

The Corvette keeps up in handling and is half the price. The Viper and 911 Turbo are the same price and can do BETTER. If all you care about is interior quality why the hell are you getting a sports car? Get a Bimmer and enjoy a back seat.

The NSX is just ho-hum. Honda needs to do more for it to be something special.

You are arguing that a sports car is a better car than another sports car on the basis of how the interior looks. I can see this being the deciding argument being made if, say, this was about two luxury sedans that had equal price and performance. Unfortunately, the NSX is ~30,000 more than the Z06, has less performance, and is a sports car. Are you next going to argue which is better on the basis of cupholders?

I've seen a letter to the editor in a car mag where someone claimed the Mustang to be better than the Camero based largely on window roll up/down times. And many people are more concerned about cupholder counts than piston counts. So don't be too suprized when it comes up :D

I'm not a Honda fan, but the NSX is the only one I'd buy... I love that car so much.. I've always liked it better than the Supra, too.

Corvette, Viper & Porsche 911 Turbo > NSX.

The amazing thing is, the Corvette z06 can outperform just about any car, even those costing twice as much.

judging by the best motoring videos i've seen, the NSX holds its own against cars with far more power. handling and refinement go a long way in a real racing situation. there's a lot more to driving than the 1/4 mile, both in terms of speed and in terms of just having a good time. if you're a wimp who thinks pushing the gas pedal is driving, then you deserve your corvettes or F-bodies.

that said, i'd be happy to have either a corvette OR an NSX. ;)

See, the Lotus is more reasonable than the NSX. It may not have crazy horsepower like the Corvette... but it's cheap, @ 39k. And it does 0-60 in 4.6s, which I find phenominal from an I4. It's also the best handling car ever built. It's a new performance bargain.

Lotus Elise is also > NSX.
