new notebook, need suggestions!

Getting a new laptop before next semester starts. Currently running a64 on the deskop and I do a fair amount of programming, and scientific programming at that, so having same platform for both would be nice as while I am not yet using 64bit instrucitons i probably will be during the life of the latop, and possibly within the next few months. Have a widescreen lcd on my desktop, and have had two widecreen lcd notebooks, so i would prefer to keep widescreen. Highres is a must (wuxga or uxga). Dx9 graphics are important as i will play some games, though most of my gaming is on the desktop so its not the highest priority. I can accept a centrino/dothan but a64 is a plus. Would like to keep it under $2500 with a 3 year onsite warranty. As i will be using the machine at school (now living off campus) and will be spending a fair amount of time in my office there I need the machine to be reliable, ie downtime would be realy bad, so onsite nextday repair is realy important. So far i cant find an a64 notebook that this fits, so I may go to a 8600 or ibm, as at least i can trust that if there is a problem they will fix it quickly. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Probably wont be ordering till the 2nd-3rd week in august.
