NEW! not so dumb solaris Q

Ok so I have a creator 3d series3 /dev/ffb0 and an Elite 3d m3 /dev/afb0. I am havinf trouble getting a dual display to work on them, I have read about edditing Xservers and whatnot but so far I just get a really nasty overwritten display and then the Xserver gives up (I think) and it all clears up and login is normal again. Any pointers? Searching anywhere yeilds a million Linux answers but none for SunOS2.9. In case you were wondering I killed the ultra one in favor of an ultra30, overclocked to a whopping 352 it is completely stable, 384. 36.2 and a sunPCi card that is working like a charm for the whole 2 apps I have to use @ work that are windows. Thanks in advance, to all, especially sunner who has helped me in the past.
dc new solaris zealot.

Solaris 9.0 Sparc, CDE. Niether the elite3d m3 nor the creator 3d have any counterpart or like named card in the peecee world. Come to think of it the dual UPA arch @ 120Mhz is something completely unheard of in the peecee world as well... Imagine 2 AGP ports, on the same switch fabric as your cpu... eeps that'd be kickin.

It did, but Sol 9 has yet to be released for intel. 😉

XF86 runs on many architectures. In fact, I had it running on my Mac for a while.

Check out this usenet thread. It may help.

Nah I've just got an extensive bookmark collection in my browser 😉

Once again looks like sunner is my hero, hopefully I've progressed rapidly enough for him to continue my apprenticeship🙂. Haven't read the article yet but it is open in another window for when I am done here. n0c, I urge you to try google with this question, most of the people have either gotten past the first steps or are simply raving how much they like it. Or thier trying to use linux with sparc, or solaris with x86, none of which help me :-( Sunner, you married? I think I love you.
dc - not gay, but feeling an extreme attraction to sunner every time he points me in the right direction.

But I knew that going into it. and 2 my used ass old sun 20" monitor seems to be giving up the ghost... Foey... I am thoroughly happy with this machine, a well spend 550ish...
