New nForce2 audio drivers at Windowsupdate again - user beware

I have an 8RDA+ and Windows XP Pro SP1, and it said that v5.10.2938.0 is available now. Anyone know why nVidia isn't releasing these from their site? They STILL have the ones from January listed.

Edit: User beware; I get some funky distortions with these drivers, sort of like being drugged and bludgeoned on the head at the same time - it's like an echo, but it builds on itself, sort of like feedback. If I switch any one of these - Rear Speaker Phase Shift off, Dolby Encoding on, or 2 speaker mode on - then it goes away. But I don't like the settings like that. I think I'll try a previous version. Anyone else getting this?

Certainly looks like there?s an update by looking at the INFs - but I haven't got the onboard sound enabled at the moment as there isn?t any way to override the bass and treble controls, leaving you with the graphical equaliser :disgust:

I have... I hoped they would solve a problem I was having with EAX... after a few minutes of playing, the sound gets distorted, like you're listening to it over a CB radio. I had that problem with the previous drivers I was using (I don't know what ones exactly) and I'm still having it with these new ones. Someone care to post a good set that I can try?

I have a NF7-S and they seem to work just fine for me. But I didn't have any real problems before.

Sounds good to me.

that is the EXACT problem i am having. except even when i disable eax it does it. in CS and 1942.🙁

Turning off EAX fixed that in CS... and turning off hardware acceleration in fixed it in BF1942... however, I would still like a driver set that worked so I can enable hardware acceleration.

For the 8RDA+ you could try the Realtek A3.42's they work great with the ALC650 on my 75FRN-L and you get a 10 band GQ and sound effects plus the sound quality is great and BentValve says it fixed a audio problem with NASCAR 2003 so it may be the answer you're looking for.
