Release Notes

* WHQL certified kit for nForce, nForce2, and nForce3
* First release of NVIDIA IDE driver for Windows XP and Windows 2000
* General compatibility fixes
* Audio Improvements:
o Realtek ALC655 codec support added
o Fix for BSOD on loading DLS files
o Reduced susceptibility to audio glitches under heavy system load; additional fixes for 6 channel GetPosition glitches
o ASIO support for recording at sample rates other than 48kHz; lower and more predictable latency
o Fixes for NOLF. The 3D minimum and maximum distance and the roll off factor were not being taken into account for air absorption. Also modified reverb gain so that the max distance was taken into account
o Fix for EAX reverbs; initialized EAX reverbs to off when querying for the EAX listener interface; updated EAX property handlers to ignore invalid parameters instead of range limiting -- this matches Creative EAX behavior

Just installed them. My hard drive is on teh SATA ports on my NF7-S the only thing on the IDE are my CD-RW and DVD-Rom so I can't say if the IDE helps or not, but the sound is still great. But I have never had a problem so will have to see what other say.

Anyone having any problems with these new drivers? I hope they are all good, if nobody has any negative comments about them I will upgrade my drivers tomorrow.

Going to try these out soon. I am going to set a System Restore point though, which I'll recommend to anyone. It saved me from a possible reformat when I tried the 2.42 drivers.

So all I have to do is make a new sys restore, uninstall my 2.45's and install these, right? That method will make sure everything's clean?

If so, I'm gonna try these. Shoulda reformatted today instead of yesterday hehe.

These drivers prevented WinXP from loading.... it just stayed at the loading screen. Betting it on the IDe drivers..

Many people are apparently having lots of problems w/ the installation (i.e., cannot boot after the upgrade). There're numerous threads about this at nforcershq.com. I was lazy & just ran the installation without the uninstallation (I have a ghost image backup just in case), and everything worked out fine (checked the hardware properties and all drivers were updated).

OK just managed to installed it. So far so good. A folder full of MP3s (1000s) seem to scroll faster. I'm too lazy to run benches. Real world difference is more important to me.

1. Over the top install worked fine for me.
2. First sound drivers that havent produced sound corruption (so far... Yay! )

running more benches ...

_________ Edit__________

Benches looked the same (good)

But...

NTFS just corrupted on me....

Going to install without SW drivers this time (again)

I installed 3.13 without problems this morning on my A7N8X Deluxe v1.04 running Win2k, but I used Add/Remove Application in the Control Panel to get rid of the old drivers first. I had to do a couple of reboots to complete the uninstall, then a couple more during/after the installation of the new drivers. So far I noticed no changes for the worse, meaning everything worked just the way it was supposed to. I DID install the IDE drivers. I took the Midnight Club 2 demo for a spin to do some "testing " and the program ran without a hitch. Hopefully my compy will still be alive when I get home tonight...

Same here. My drives aren't showing up as SCSI devices, so that's a good sign. DMA is working normally for me - AIDA32's linear read test gave me 45MB/sec, and 4% CPU utilization.

Over the top install seems to have worked just fine! Just remember to disable antivirus. Might be my imagination, but programs seem to load faster. No IDE issues visible.

After installing the drivers yesterday as I reported earlier, I ran the UT2003 demo for a quick team deathmatch, then finished the entire Halo demo this morning. Both games ran just fine with the new drivers. I cannot say I noticed a speed difference, my system was blazing fast already. :)

It punked my system with the fist install, so nect time I used Mwarhead's NVIDA app, and driver cleaner, then it installed ok. But I got DVD errors, and the network adapter showed marked CPU usage - so I rolled back to 2.45. It was running just fine anyway.

I also discovered I had issues.

I lost 200mb in Bandwidth !

So, I also followed the new Mware unistall using his "reset" drivers.
And it worked excellent. Mind, that it's a long slow process.
(and be sure to read and understand the reset instructions - 'say yes to SW driver install')

But I did things a bit different, and I gained almost 1000 points in Aquamark for it.
And a little more in PCmark also.

I did this... ( I made a Disk Image 1st !!! )

1. Swapped the Ethernet driver AND MemCtrlr from Mware 2.45a to 3.13.
(cuz I lost 200mb in bandwidth , and added the ethernet for good measure)
2. Deleted IDE folder (SW drivers never worked for me - NTFS failure - corruption)
3. Added USB Folder from Mware 2.45 to 3.13

Downloaded Mware reset
(already had Mware 2.45a 's)

Downloaded the Cleaner
(I used version 1.9 ,,, 2.5 wouldnt work)

I did the Mware reset.
(read the part about saying YES to SW install)
Rebooted.

Turned off my network connection. (Disable)
Uninstalled ATI CP.
Rebooted. (normal)
Uninstalled ATI drivers.
Rebooted to safe mode F8

(Be sure to CANCEL any attempts to install drivers while in safe mode)

Uninstalled Nforce Audio
Reboot to safe mode again F8

Uninstalled Nforce Utilites.
Uninstalled Nforce Drivers.
Reboot to safe mode again F8

Installed Cleaner 1.9 (new 2.5 version froze - unresponsive)
Cleaned ATI
Cleaned ATI Hydro
(Left ATI MMC intact)

Cleaned Nforce audio
Cleaned Nforce
Cleaned nVidia stuff
Reboot. (normal)

Installed modified 3.13's

___________ results _______

Gave me Aquamark boost of almost 1000 points.
Gave me additional 5mb more of bandwidth.

Faster startup ... and nice sound. (no more Muffled sound)

I am having a problem installing these. I am running an Asus A7N8X Deluxe When I run the setup.exe after I extract it, I see the nVidia logo then the installer closes. I have disabled the antivirus software and downloaded it three times. I know I can update manually in the device manager using update driver and pointing to the directory, but I don't know all of the devices to update. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks. Peace.

P.S. What a way to get to 600.

I dont have your MB.

But if you check over at NforcersHQ, I bet you could find out whats working and what's not.

But anyway...

Lots of users are rolling back the Ethernet, and SW drivers (if your not using SW already ,,, I wouldnt try them,,, corruption issues). Some are rolling back the MemCtrlr also ... (like me)

So,,, for many ,,, this release may not be worth it. Check that forum. Good luck.

Everything is working fine for me (Epox 8RDA+)

So far so good with the SW IDE drivers.
