New Nforce drivers build 2.42 just released

Nvidia has uploaded a new build package of the unified nForce 1/2 driver package. This update comes right after the last official release 2.41 which was released this past Monday. Changes are as follows:

Graphics drivers 43.51 are now WHQL
IDE drivers has been REMOVED.


Why would the IDE drivers be removed?

The IDE drivers were removed because there were serious issues with them for many people who tried them. Me for one. I didn't like the way it parked my HDD heads and powered them off when rebooting. Other people had different problems. Bottom line is nVidia recognizes that there is a problem with them and pulled them so they could work on a fix. Wise move IMHO.

Let's hope nVidia can produce a new driver soon.

the IDE drivers had screwed my cdrom up for some reason, these 2.42 work much better.
