I don't know what they're thinking. Its lost its cuteness which is what made the previous one so successful. It even looks like its got a drooping frowny face. I can't even imagine how much worse it will look in one those pastel yellow or blue colors.

I can't wait to see what Jeremy Clarkson has to say about it. Of course its like VW's going out of their way to make him right.

It's just a mule. The roof line is real but they just grafted on the old front and rear end. That's why it looks so weird.

I like the new roof a lot... It looks like the original Beetle, more Porsche-esque.

BTW is it just me or has the New Beetle been around FOREVER? I remember one of my HS teachers buying one when I was a sophomore.

My salesman friend said that in the 6 years hes been with VW the only male that ever bought a new beetle was batting for the other team.

I'm no huge VW fan, but I have a decent respect for many of their models such as GTI, Jetta TDI, etc.

The recently deceased beetle was a real shitcan, at least it was the two that I drove/rode in (original launch model and a '05 Turbo).

Wait, I thought they stopped making it?

And, GOOD GOD what the hell?

Same here. Not many people drive them. The New Beetle is and always was a novelty car. They're not exactly cheap either. The base model is going for $24,175 in Canada.

Someone JLee knows will buy a turbo version of one of these and want to race.

The Turbo S version was pushing 180HP IIRC and they are easy to incease the boost. Pretty light at 3000lbs too and had a 6spd maual.

Would never drive one though.........

Looks like shit ... looks like the EOS

07.Eos.6_&

Sometimes I feel like going up to the board of directors for VWoA and kicking them all in the face for being so utterly retarded.

Why are you people judging the looks of a car that has obviously been hacked together with camouflage body panels? The final version is not going to look all disconfigured like that test mule does.

The roofline actually makes me think Crossfire, and that's about the only thing I somewhat like, but I don't think it works that well here.

Valid points, but I'm sorry, I don't see difference fascias turning this into a good, or even just decent looking car. Hell, even completely reworking the fenders and front and rear could only at best make it a somewhat less terrible looking car.

I think it looks kinda cool. With better rims and a 2-tone paintjob, it'd look kind of like the buggies people used to mod.

Bad, really ugly. It reminds me of an updated version of an old French Citroen.

As bad as it looks some will buy it. It's at tiimes like this when I trully believe that some people were just born stupid.
