I solved yesterday's problem of configuring my LAN and internet. Single NIC doesn't give you the option of acessing the internet and LAN computers at the same time. To do that the proxy server must have atleast 2 NICs. Now i have a new question. Is there any way I can do remote login from the client to server when I have win 2000 professional running in both? or for remote login i have to have win 2000 server running on the computer that is running as proxy server
 
What do you want to achieve when you do a "remote login"? Do you want to gain access to files and folders? Do you want to take remote control over the system?

To create a domain in 2K ("domain" as in "legacy NT domain"), you need at least 2K server (assuming all 2K machines), and that server would need to be the PDC. Then any NT/2K machines would need to be members of the domain, and they along with authorized users will authenticate to login. Alternately, a remote 9x machine can be authenticated and login without the explicit need for the machine itself to be a domain member, as long as the user that logs in via that machine IS a domain member or guest with privleges.
