When I use Roxio Platinum 5 to copy a CD it gives me an error message "Can't get the necessary recorder information. CreatorAPI returns failure" and after I press OK another error pops up "CD Copier could not detect any support CD Recorders. Ensure your CD Recorder is properly connected."

What can I do?

*It burned data to a CD last night so I know this works.*

Does this drive have problems with iTunes? I'm thinking about picking one up for a system I have and I use iTunes to burn audio CDs. I remeber reading somewhere that there's a NEC drive that doesn't work well with iTunes. Is this the drive?

Wait a second, Roxio Platinum 5 ? How old is that software? It may not support the newer NEC DVD recorder, unless you download some updates from Roxio's site. Have you done that?

DoobieNaq23,my advice is to ditch Roxio and go with Nero 6 free demo version from here ,you`ll probably find you like it and it`s the best software burning package IMHO,worth paying for the full version.

just go to roxio's site and download the update for v5

because actually tons of dvd burners are supported by ezcd5 (ive never had a burner that wouldnt work with it, that includes pioneer a03, a04, a05, 106, 107, several liteon models, a sony or two, a nec or two) lol you can probably tell i prefer pioneer drives :)

i use both nero 6 (i use nero most often) and ezcd5
