Mating the x800 to an Epox nF4+U, Venice 3000 and Corsair Value Ram. While I am awaiting the SonataII to show up I thought I would see if there is a more recent release of the drivers, primarily interested in proven and stable.

Thanks Folks!

Sweet, thanks. Quick question (or two...New Builder :) )

1. The Driver Page says something about MS Net Framework having to be installed first - is this included in my new copy of XP Home with SP2?

2. I am trying to keep this as uncluttered as possible, can I just use the regular control panel and not the Catalyst control panel?

Thanks again.

.NET Framework is not included with the default install of WinXP. You'll have to download it separately, it also comes with Windows Update. Just an FYI, Microsoft released .NET Framework 2.0 recently, you can download it as a standalone install.

But more to the point, I recommend that you just get the control panels version of the drivers. I don't use the CCC as it's slow and bloated. I don't use any of the deeper settings that the CCC provides access to so it's of no use to me anyways. And the control panels version is a smaller download so it's a win-win any way you look at it.

Another quick question :)

ATI's package is labelled 5.10 - I just visited MSI's site and they l;ist the latest ATi display driver as 8.17 from September -- do I ignore the MIS driver and go for the ATi catalyst (I downloaded the low-speed, Driver in one file and Control Panel in another, I skipped the Catalyst control Panel).

Thanks again folks!

Used the newest Cat drivers and didn't have to install Net Framework, must come already with XP SP2.

You must have downloaded the catalyst drivers with control panels and not the CCC. I know that WinXP does NOT come with .NET Framework. I have WinXP SP2 HE and Pro and both require .NET to be installed separately when I install the OS.

I use .NET as I like Paint.NET and that requires .NET Framework to run.
