Some major quality loss is going to happen by going through coaxial inputs instead of at least RCAs or preferrably s-video. I guess they might've done this to avoid a boatload of lawsuits though.

i guess it would make defeating macrovision a bit harder

yeah, a beta tester for this said thie bypasses ANY signals that prevent recording from the cable company or that....so, I guess thats why
