It depends on what kind of grip you use and your preference in sensitivity. If you palm it, I've heard the DeathAdder is among the best. Claw grip isn't so good with this mouse. It is mature, reliable, and its sensor can take low sensitivity very well (going hand-in-hand with palm grip because most who use it do so with low sens). Another aspect that might matter is lift off height or the height at which no movement is recorded by the sensor. With some dark surfaces, this mouse can track a whole 4 mm off the surface (Goliathus pads for example). This might annoy you or take some getting used to. I only got a few seconds to mess with a SideWinder and it seems to be most effective in a palm grip as well. The Salmosa is supposed to be best with the claw grip, but it doesn't have any side buttons which I have grown to require so I don't have experience with it. If you use mid to high sensitivity, there are further options in laser mice. The Copperhead takes some getting used to, but I liked it until its left button crapped out after a couple years of good service. I talked with a guy on Gamesurge about many mice and he brought my attention to the A4tech X-750. It seems to be built for Counter-Strike with its triple fire button designed for timing with pistols. I can imagine it being effective with practice, but the mainstay of this mouse is that despite its low price it offers a highly sensitive laser sensor and is actually well built if you don't get a bad one. I was told that it's comfortable in many grips, and I have yet to try it out because the closest Microcenter is too far for me where they might have some on display or in store so I am waiting on internet order. It's hard to find the lizard skin version (750BF) which offers a more sweat-resistant grip, but the OCZ Equalizer can be easily found which is a rebadged 750F without the LS. I would imagine OCZ is easier to deal with in case of problems with the mouse as well, because apparently A4 is difficult to get a hold of. The only glaring issue I can find from reading about the 750/OCZ is that it is locked at default polling rate and I have grown accustomed to 500/1000Hz but if the shape is good I won't care. Mouse shape is very subjective so you might end up going through more than one to find the right one so good luck.
