I can have my choice of either of these mice for essentially no cost to me.
Now which one do I choose?
I have the MX1000 now, but it's gone a little flaky.
This was a gift as well so no warranty.
I did like it well enough when it was working.
One of the better mice I have had.
I had no issues in the little gaming I did.
I don't game much, but every now and then I can go on a game binge.

mx rev is supposed to be the best mouse out there, but it wasnt really made for gaming, so if u only play games every once in a while, the mx should be dope, read the review AT just made on it

lots of gaming = G7
medium to little gaming = MX revolution.

Also, if you don't care about adjustable DPI or seperate x-y axis sensitivity adjustment, then go straight for the MX revolution...

MX is also more expensive (although you said that you could get whichever for essentially no cost...)

I just got the MX rev for Xmas, so my interest in this thread just got renewed and I wanted to see if there were any more opinions out there....

I play a decent amount of Quake 3/4 and CS: Source (hour a day), but I'm not even in a clan or anything. I'm actually pretty satisfied with my old MS explorer 3.0....never used a mouse with high dpi or adjustable speeds, etc. If I exchanged it (the MX) for the G7 instead would I really see that much of an improvement in my gaming?

Thanks

Logitech will probably replace your mouse, just call them and they ask when you bought it. If you're in the warranty period you read some numbers off the mouse and charger and they send you a new set.

Make sure you at least feel the MX Revolution before buying it. It felt a lot different compared to the MX1000 and MX700, enough that I went to a Razor Diamondhead mouse.
