Wow I'm trying some new mountain dew I guess. No its not the red alert cherry flavored stuff either. I've cracked open a 2 liter bottle of diet dew and after pouring a hearty glass I noticed it tasted funny. My dad confirmed my suspicions and we agree on what it is. At first it tastes like mountain dew, but then there is a root beer after taste. The dew still looks pretty yellow, but I've gotta say, this is perhaps the nastiest thing I've tried to drink in years. This bottle is gonna have to be discarded I'm afriad, its just too weird. Ever gotten any freakish sodas yourself? 🙂
 
There is a sandwich shop here that has a huge selection of sodas. Stuff you think went out of business in the 50's. I think the strangest one I tasted is the Olde Tyme cherry lime rickey flavor. Not bad just strange.
 
What is rickey flavor anyway? 🙂

Actually I'll take that back about the nastiest soda, I know JonyGuru will disagree with me too, but I've got some celery soda in the fridge that is so vile 😀

well, I had this carbonated beverage once.. called Fresca, I think.. tasted something like club soda with 5 drops of a cross between lemonade and cough syrup... :disgust:
 
Nope. Just got back from bike riding and lunch. Getting ready to take a shower then later I will go to work.
 
Almost forgot. I do not know what the rickey flavor is. Considering it could be a guys name maybe I don't want to know.
 
Lime Rickey is just any citrus flavored soda, named after a Colonel Rickey who apparently liked to ask for lime with club soda and gin.

Fresca is revolting, IcemanJer - it's grapefruit soda - why anyone would dream that one up, I don't know.

Soybomb, I hope that's some new Mountain Dew and not some spoiled or old Mountain Dew.
 
Strange, I had a pepsi this weekend that tasted like they had mixed in some root beer. kind of an aftertase. pepsico probably screwed up a batch or something.\

Yeah I'm thinking it was just a bad batch or something, everyone once in a while you get one thats just "off" Usually it means a bit more syrup and itcan taste better, sometimes not as much and its notas good as usual. This is just odd and gross though 😉 😀 Oh and as long as it doens't taste like rickey then .... 🙂

I'm pretty sure fresca is supposed to be grapefruit flavored...
 
Around here a "Lime Rickey" is a mixture of Grape and 7-up or Slice or Sprite.

What's really good with Mountain Dew is Dr. Pepper (or, as I like to call it, Dr. Dew 😉).

Mix about 80/20 or 90/10 ratio (depending on your tastes) Dr. Pepper/Dew. Yummy!!

Anyone ever have Cactus Cooler? I love that stuff, but it isn't sold anywhere but west of the rockies, I guess, because I couldn't find it in SC, NC, Ga or IL.
 
The worst is a mixture of everything. When I was little we would mix all of the drinks at a soda fountain together. I think it was called a suicide or something. It tasted like crap but we were dumbarses so we did it anyway.

I had clear pepsi before, it was weird though, just didnt seem right drinking it knowing it was without color, maybe Im just a freak, ya never know!!

It's undoubtedly mixed with other things, like lemon and lime, but there's definitely mostly grapefruit in it.
 
ok it's a citrus grapefruit soda, hehe 🙂 I just thought I remember it said on the can it was a citrus soda, who knows I haven't had the stuff in a long time.

I remember loving the Clear Pepsi when it first appeared on the market. It's success was short lived and it disappeared as fast it had appeared. Anyone like the Clear Pepsi?
 
Yeh...Crystal pepsi... that was a very long time ago but it was a pretty nice idea at the time... I wonder if they will ever bring that back?
 
Yeah, I kinda like grapefruit soda. There was this one cola flavor stuff I had before that was completly nasty though. It was like $5.99 for 4 six packs, so a friend of mine bought it. It actually had a cancer warning label on the front. I forgot what it was called.
BTW, Jolt is pretty sickening too, but at least it keeps you up on those nights, where you CAN'T sleep cause of work, LAN party, or something.
